My name is Debbie Postles and although I am a newly registered childminder I have plenty of experience as I was previously registered between 1995 and 2000.

When my daughters (now 20 and 23) were very young I ran the local Mother and Toddler group, Pre-school Gym Club and then progressed to helping in their school. I was a Parent/Governor and also Secretary of the PTA. After working for a while as a Mid-day Supervisor I decided to register as a childminder and spent six very happy years in the most rewarding job ever.

However in 2000 I decided to embark on a new career in the mobile communications industry. After a short time I progressed to Regional Sales Manager for the Midlands area. Although I enjoyed this job I never felt the same excitement or sense of achievement as I had working with children. Hitting sales targets was nothing compared to the joy I felt in giving a child a safe, caring and stimulating environment in which to develop into a confident and happy individual.

Therefore I have made the decision to return to the career where I feel I can really make a difference. Where no two days are ever the same! I am currently working towards my NVQ 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development.
